OutClip sends the page you save to your own Outline server. To nobody else. There is no vendor server that sees your content, and no analytics, no telemetry, no ads.

What the extension processes
Page content. When you press “Save to Outline”, OutClip reads the visible content of the current page, converts it to Markdown and sends it to the Outline address you entered yourself. This happens only on your click — never in the background, and never on pages you merely visit.
Images. With “Store images in Outline” enabled, OutClip hands the image addresses to your Outline server. Your server downloads them, not the extension. No image byte passes through OutClip.
Full-page picture. If you tick it, OutClip renders a picture of the page and uploads it to your Outline server. That is the only direction it travels.
Encryption. From version 0.3.10 on, OutClip connects to
your Outline server over HTTPS only. An address starting with
http:// is refused before anything is sent; the sole exception
is your own machine (localhost, 127.0.0.1,
::1), because nothing leaves the device there. Earlier versions
also accepted http:// addresses.
What is stored in your browser
Locally only, in your browser's storage.local:

All of it stays in your browser. The one exception is the licence check, and it concerns you only if you have entered a licence key: then the key, the activation identifier and the device name go to Polar, when you activate and afterwards automatically about every three days, as soon as you use OutClip. When and where exactly is described under “Who receives data”. You can delete the token at any time with “Forget token”; removing the extension removes everything.
Who receives data
Your Outline server — the address you entered. What happens to the data there is up to you, not us.
Polar (api.polar.sh) — only
if you enter or hold a licence key, and always encrypted (HTTPS). What
travels then is the key, an activation identifier and a device name such as
“OutClip · Firefox · 2026-10-27”, so you can tell your browsers apart. No
page content, no visited addresses, no titles.
When this happens: when you activate, when you remove the licence, when you press “Check again” and automatically about every three days, as soon as you use OutClip. From version 0.3.10 on you can switch off “Check the licence automatically” in the settings; OutClip then asks only when you press “Check again”, and your licence keeps working.
From version 0.3.10 on, Firefox asks first: the key and the activation
identifier are sent only if you allow “Share authentication information with
extension developer”. The browser name in the device name is included only if
you allow “Share technical and interaction data with extension developer”;
otherwise the device is simply called “OutClip”. You can change either at any
time in about:addons under “Permissions and data”.
Polar is the merchant of record; their privacy policy: polar.sh/legal/privacy.
Nobody else. No analytics service, no crash reporter, no ad network, no remote fonts.

OutClip requests no standing access to arbitrary websites.
This website
obin.space keeps no access log: your IP
address is not stored when you read these pages. There are no cookies, no
tracking pixels, no third-party embeds and no remote fonts. The typefaces
used here are served from the same server as the pages themselves.
The contact page carries a single script, served from here as well. It
receives nothing and sends nothing: it merely assembles a mailto:
link from what you typed and hands it to your own mail application. Whatever
you write there leaves your machine only once you press “Send” in your mail
program.
Unavoidably, your IP address is known while the page is transmitted — no server can reply without it. It reaches an error log only when delivery fails; such entries are deleted after 14 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in operating the site.
Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on a server located in Germany.
Your rights
Since no personal data reaches the vendor, there is nothing at the vendor to disclose or delete. Purchase data is Polar's responsibility as merchant of record. The contents of your Outline are yours.
In principle you hold the rights under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent one here is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
